Introduction:
Laymen's Evangelical Fellowship (LEF) Churches – Description (Layman's Terms):
The Laymen’s Evangelical Fellowship (LEF) is a Christian organization and network of churches focused on living a simple, Christ-centered life based on the teachings of the Bible. Founded in India in 1935 by N. Daniel, the movement aims to help everyday believers (or "laymen") grow spiritually, live holy lives, and actively share their faith.
Key Characteristics:
Bible-Based Teaching: LEF churches strongly emphasize the authority of the Bible and encourage personal study and application of God’s Word.
Holiness and Personal Revival: A major focus is on living a holy life, avoiding worldly distractions, and seeking regular spiritual renewal.
Simple Worship Services: Worship tends to be straightforward, without a focus on showy music or emotional hype—rather, it's reverent, sincere, and Scripture-centered.
Evangelism and Prayer: LEF members are encouraged to pray deeply and often, and to actively share their faith with others.
Strong Leadership Model: Leadership is centralized and often closely connected to the family of the founder, continuing under the guidance of Bro. Joshua Daniel (son of N. Daniel) and his successors.
Global Reach: Though it started in India, LEF now has churches and fellowships in countries including the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, and others.
